Frequently asked questions
If you have any questions or problems you may find the answer below;

There are a total of 49 actions in Actions in Video. There are 3 individual videos of each action. In total there are 154 different videos. In addition, there are six actions that are targeted in both the Person & Action category and Person, Action & Object category. These actions are demonstrated in grammatically correct sentences in each category.
It is recommended that you begin with Person & Action as this is the easiest form of sentence construction. Remember you want the user to succeed at every step. This is why we have used an ‘errorless learning’ strategy in the matching activity. You can increase the levels of difficulty when the user is ready to progress.
The actions are mainly laid out in the order that children acquire them and also grouped together to provide contrast. Therefore, you might like to start on action pack 1. However, if a specific action is more relevant to your child, then, you could begin with that one. For example, if your child likes to dance, then, use this opportunity to work on dancing in action pack 5.
You need to have an action selected before you can progress. Tap on the action to select it and then the start button will function.
This is because we want the user to just focus on what is happening in the video rather than moving on to the matching stage. The matching graphic symbols will appear for matching once the video is completed.
No. We have purposely not added audio to the videos in order for the user to focus on the sense of vision alone. Therefore, the user is encouraged to look at the action to gain an understanding of what is happening rather than being distracted by environmental sounds.
Go to settings and 'colour coded graphics symbols' and turn the function on.
The record feature in Actions in Video needs permission to access the microphone on your device. The first time you use it a box will pop up requesting permission to do this. Tap OK. You can also turn it on in settings on your device by going to privacy, then, microphone and sliding it to the ‘on’ position.
